DeepNet Lab PI Attends International Workshop on Inclusive Education and Generative AI

DeepNet Lab Principal Investigator Md. Jalal Uddin Chowdhury participated in the 3-day international workshop titled "Introduction to the Inclusive Education Toolkit: Supporting Disadvantaged and Excluded Individuals and Communities in Bangladesh," held from June 22-24, 2025 at Hotel InterContinental, Dhaka. The workshop was jointly organized by American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and Nottingham Trent University (NTU, UK), with funding from the British Council. The event centered on the theme "Generative AI for Good," focusing on inclusive education, accessibility, and equity in tertiary education. The workshop brought together educators, researchers, and international experts to explore how Generative AI can support inclusive teaching practices and drive institutional transformation in education. "Participating in this workshop was an inspiring experience," said Md. Jalal Uddin Chowdhury. "Engaging with educators and international experts on how GenAI can support inclusive teaching practices provided valuable insights that align with our commitment to ethical and accessible AI development." Key discussions included developing inclusive education toolkits, leveraging AI for accessibility in tertiary education, and creating equitable learning environments for disadvantaged communities. This participation reflects DeepNet Lab's dedication to exploring the intersection of AI and social good, particularly in the areas of education accessibility and ethical AI deployment.
